Bridging Oceans - Internationalization and Higher Education in the Asia Pacific

APAIE 2020 Postponement Announcement

It is with great regret that APAIE, together with the support of our partners, Simon Fraser University, and the British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) has decided to postpone APAIE 2020 to March 21-25, 2021. This decision was taken after close monitoring of the rising global risk assessment by the World Health Organization. Although the risk of transmission of the Covid 19 virus is currently assessed as low in Canada and enthusiasm for APAIE 2020 was high among the more than 2,500 people who have registered to attend so far, the global situation is changing every day in unpredictable ways. We recognize the need to care for the health and welfare of our participants and of the host community. We are also cognisant of the travel restrictions that are being reviewed and extended on a daily basis, and that were impacting in colleagues’ ability to join us, particularly from across the Asia Pacific region.

Further information will be sent directly to delegates and partners and will be posted on this website in the coming days. The conference will be held in Vancouver in March 2021, and Mahidol University will now host APAIE 2022 in Bangkok.
